10 September 2019

The PonDerat project was present at the 28th meeting of the European Vegetation Survey (EVS) in Madrid with a scientific poster. This showed the promising preliminary results of the monitoring action on plots that were eradicated from Carpobrotus in Ventotene and Santo Stefano.

EVS is a renowned working group of the International Association for Vegetation Science (IAVS), which focuses on vegetation survey and classification in Europe. More recently, EVS has paid special attention to the implementation of the Habitats Directive, with several contributions on mapping habitats of Community interest and on the assessment of conservation status, based on the present state as well as on foreseeable and assessable threats, such as species invasion.
