ISPRA

The Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), was created in 2008 with the intention of bringing together, in a single structure, skills, and therefore, personnel, financial resources, that were prerogative of various subjects such as:

- ex-APAT, Environmental Protection Agency

- former INFS, National Institute for Wild Fauna;

- ex-ICRAM Central Institute for Scientific and Technological Research Applied to the Sea

ISPRA is the technical-scientific body of the Ministry of the Environment and of the Protection of the Territory and the Sea.

It promotes and implements research and strategic approaches to address issues concerning biodiversity and habitat conservation. In particular it is involved in this particular project due to its experience in assessing the impact of human activities on biodiversity, and in the management and recovery of terrestrial habitats.
