Nemo srl

Since 1993 NEMO srl has been carrying out studies of impact and incidence on ecosystems, and management plans of Natura 2000 sites. It participated in numerous LIFE Nature as a subcontractor, carrying out coordination tasks, planning, monitoring and processing of management plans. It participated  as an associated beneficiary to LIFE08 NAT/IT/000353 and LIFE12 NAT/ IT/000416. It also collaborated on significant actions of projects LIFE05 NAT/IT/000037; LIFE00NAT/EN/7239; LIFE00 NAT/IT/007170; LIFE95 NAT/IT/000698; LIFE98 NAT/IT/005125; LIFE97 NAT/IT/004153; LIFE04 NAT/IT/000172.

It designed all the black rat eradications carried out to date on Italian islands:

Montecristo, smaller islets of Tuscany (1999-2001), Giannutri (2005-06), Zannone (2006), Molara (2008) and surrounding islets (2009-10). In Molara it was used for the first time (in Europe) an aerial distribution of rodenticide baits, a methodology subsequently used in Montecristo and proposed in the present project. NEMO is also involved in eradication, control, prevention and communication programs on alien species, at regional and local level. It invests in updating and research applied to conservation. Since 1998 one of the main sectors of interest is the management of alien species, especially in the islands and for the protection of sea birds, with the production of numerous scientific works.
